  1. EVENT
    1. The 2010 World Championships Freestyle Junior and Youth will be held from July 28th till August 1st 2010 in Bonaire, Dutch Antilles.
    2. The Event includes the 2010 Starboard Pro Kids IFCA Freestyle Worlds.
  2. ORGANISER
    1. The Championships will be organised by Aguaspeed- Bonaire windsurfers, as the LOA, for and on behalf of and under specified conditions laid down by the International Funboard Class Association (IFCA) and the ISAF.
  3. VENUE
    1. The event will be based at Sorobon Beach, Bonaire, Dutch Antilles

  4. RULES
    1. This is an ISAF sanctioned event governed by:
      1. The 2009-2012  ISAF Racing Rules of Sailing –Windsurfing Competition Rules (WCR) ;
      2. The IFCA Class Rules & Championship Rules;
      3. This Notice of Race ("NoR") & the Sailing Instructions (SIs);
      4. Alterations to the SIs must be approved by the Class’s Race Supervisor;
    2. Competitors shall attend the opening & closing ceremonies including the prize giving .
    3. The IFCA is a  category 'C' class as set out in ISAF Regulation 20 - Advertising Code.
  5. ELIGIBILITY
    1. All entries shall meet the requirements of  ISAF Regulation 19-Eligibility Code .
    2. A minimum of  1 elimination round is required for a valid Championship.
    3. Competitors shall possess valid third party liability insurance.
    4. Competitors shall be a member of a National Funboard Association which shall be a paid up member of the IWA.
    5. Membership formalities can be completed on site.
  6. DISCIPLINE
    1. The discipline for the 2010 World Championships Freestyle junior and Youth and the 2010 Starboard Pro Kids IFCA Freestyle Worlds shall be Freestyle.
    2. Additionally there will be Slalom races which are not a part of the 2010 World Championships Freestyle Junior and Youth and the 2010 Starboard Pro Kids IFCA Freestyle Worlds.
  7. DIVISIONS
    1. Freestyle Junior World Championship (FJWC)
      1. A Junior shall be under the age of 17
      2. Boys and Girls may race together in a maximum of 2 eliminations per day.
    2. Freestyle Youth World Championships (FYWC)
      1. A Youth shall be under the age of 20
      2. Men and Women may race together in a maximum of 3 eliminations per day
    3. Freestyle Pro Kids Worlds (FJPK)
      1. A Pro Kid shall be under the age of 15
      2. Boys and Girls may race together in a maximum of 2 eliminations per day.
  8. SUBDIVISIONS
    1. Gender:
      1. Men/Boys; Women/Girls;
    2. Age:
      1. A Youth shall be under the age of 20 (born in or after 1991)
      2. A Junior shall be under the age of 17 (born in or after 1994)
      3. A ProKid Junior under 15 shall be under the age of 15 (born in or after 1996)
      4. A ProKid Junior under 13 shall be under the age of 13 (born in or after 1998)
      5. A ProKid Junior under 11 shall be under the age of 11 (born in or after 2000)
      6. A ProKid Junior under 9 shall be under the age of 9 (born in or after 2002)
      7. A ProKid Junior under 7 shall be under the age of 7 (born in or after 2004)
      8. A competitor must not be older than the maximum age limit, in the relevant division, by Dec. 31st in the year of the competition.
    3. General
      1. A minimum of 5 entries is required to constitute a division or sub-division. If the number of entries in a sub-division reaches 16, that subdivision may be given a separate start.
  9. EQUIPMENT
    1. All competitors shall bring their own equipment.
    2. An Equipment Registration Form shall be completed before the close of registration, as prescribed in IFCA Championship Rule # 4, except sails shall be stamped and signed by Equipment Inspectors.
  10. EQUIPMENT INSPECTION
    1. It is the responsibility of each competitor to ensure that his/her board and equipment conforms to the Class Rules.
    2. The Equipment Inspectors will pay special attention to sail identification rule compliance.
    3. Equipment checks may be made throughout the event.
  11. SAIL INSIGNIAS
    1. National letters & sail numbers shall comply with RRS.
  12. BUOYANCY / WETSUITS
    1. Not applicable
  13. LIABILITY
    1. Competitors take part in all races at their own risk. The LOA, IFCA or any of their officials or representatives or the sponsors or their officials or representatives are not responsible, under any circumstances, for any damage, loss or injury either ashore or on the water either to persons or equipment, which may result. Participation in this event, supporting events and in each race in them is at the sole discretion of the sailor and at his/her own risk. Notice is drawn to RRS 4.
  14. COURSES
    1. Courses shall be as prescribed in the IFCA Championship Rule Appendix 3; or as prescribed in the SI’s
  15. SCORING
    1. The RRS low points scoring system shall apply.
  16. FREESTYLE JURY
    1. An independent freestyle Jury will be appointed by the organiser, approved by IFCA.
  17. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS (SI)/EVENT PROGRAMME
    1. The 'Championship SIs' will be available at registration as will the Event Programme scheduling social events.
  18. COACHES
    1. Support personnel shall register and pay a non-participant fee to join all the functions and party's.

  1. MEDALS AND PRIZES
    1. Medals and/or trophies may be awarded up to the first three Men/Women in each Division depending on entry numbers. The Prize table and the actual number of prizes to be awarded in each properly constituted division will published on the Official Notice board.
    2. The first boy/ girl in the Youth division shall be known as the Youth freestyle World Champion
    3. The first boy/girl in the Junior division shall be known as the Junior freestyle World Champion
    4. The first boy/girl in the Pro Kid freestyle division shall be known as the Pro Kids freestyle Champion
  2. DRUGTESTING
    1. Competitors are reminded of the ISAF rules and regulations concerning the use of banned methods and substances. Drug testing may take place during the event.
  3. TELEVISION AND MEDIA
    1. In registering for the event, competitors automatically grant to the Organising Authority the right in perpetuity to make, use and show from time to time at their discretion, any motion pictures, still pictures and live, taped or filmed television and other reproduction of them, taken during the period of the event, for the said Championship as defined in the Notice of Race and Sailing Instructions in which he/she participates without compensation.
  4. BIBS/VESTS & COMPETITORS SAIL BRANDING.
    1. During racing, competitors may be required by the organisers to wear bibs/vests carrying the event sponsors' branding; and carry the event sponsor's advertising on their sails in accordance with IFCA Championship Rule #4.5.
    2. If entered before Juni 21st  2008 all national ProKid, Junior and Youth freestyle teams, accompanied by a coach, shall receive 6 free Country Flag sail-stickers for each of their team members. These stickers hall be applied in the sails according to the measurement notice in the sailing instructions.
  5. DRESS CODE
    1. Smart casual clothes shall be worn for the Opening Ceremony and Prize Giving Ceremony. National teams should, if available, wear the national team uniform at these functions.
    2. The organisers reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone whose standard of attire is not commensurate with the occasion.
  6. ACCOMMODATION / TOURIST INFORMATION
    1. There are hotels, apartments and pensions available in several prize categories all over the Island. It is holiday season in the Dutch Antilles so please reserve your stay early.

  1. AIR TRAVEL/ TRANSPORTATION / TRANSFERS
    1. The nearest International Airport is Bonaire Flamingo Airport  (approx. 10 minutes from Sorobon Beach).
    2. It is possible to fly direct to Bonaire from Amsterdam and the USA.
    3. KLM Airlines flies on a daily base.
    4. Free transport from the Bonaire to the race site will be provided from 2 weeks before until 3 days after the event. Please notify the organiser of your requirements and your flight details by returning Form 6 
  2. REGISTRATION
    1. The registration office during the regatta will be at the Race Office situated at the Sorobon beach.
    2. Competitors will be required to produce the following prior to completing registration formalities on site:
  • - Original Regatta Entry Form (Form 1)
  • - Evidence of valid third party insurance
  • - Parental/legal Guardian Assent (Form 2) - for those under age of 18
  • - Medical Treatment Permission (Form 3) - for those under age of 18 or on their parents medical insurance policy
  • - Original Bank Transfer/Draft details
  • - Proof of age
  • - Equipment Registration Form signed by the Official Inspectors.
  • - Coach Registration (Form 4)
  1. ENTRIES & PAYMENT
    1. Entry fees are as stated on the attached entry form (Form 1). 80,00 euro for all Junior and youth competitors and 50,00 euro for all ProKids competitors
    2. Entry fees shall be paid by MasterCard, Visa Card or bank transfer by July 3rd 2008.
    3. Payments made on site are subject to a Euro 25 excess charge unless special arrangement has been made with the IWA.
    4. Competitors should enter in advance electronically through the IWA website at http://www.internationalwindsurfing.com or by faxing +44 2392 468831) or mailing an official entry form (Form 1) with their entry fees. The Entry Forms may be downloaded from the IFCA website at www.ifca.internationalwindsurfing.com
